BAG BUDDIES

What an interesting product. You simply put a tablet into the bag with the fish. The company which make the product, Jungle Labs, claims that the product contains chemicals that calms the fish, and provides some protection from stress and for the slime coat. The water in the bag will turn a fairly dark blue color and in the first few minutes, there will be some "fizzing" from the tablet.

We used one with every bag of fish that we shipped. We only used one tablet with even the largest of bags, but cut a tab in half for a small bag. Did we we seen any difference in the success of shipping when we began using the product? Yes. We think we observed fish "settling down" in the bag even before they are put into the shipping box. After we had used several thousand of the tablets, we also noticed that we had no unexplainable deaths during the shipping process. Oh sure, we still had a few losses here and there, but the losses were explainable and none of the losses were related chemical toxicity. Oh...and if complaints from customers means anything to you as it did to us...we had far fewer complaints or any sort when we started shipping with Bag Buddies®...from that aspect, we loved these little tablets.

So what is in a Bag Buddy®? We have no idea and haven't been able to get an answer from the manufacturer. We would like to know if for no other reason than to curb our curiosity.
